General Questions

What is a shipping container?

A shipping container is a standardized steel box used for transporting goods by sea, rail, or road. They are also widely repurposed for storage, offices, homes, and creative projects due to their durability and modular design.

What sizes do shipping containers come in?

The most common sizes are 20ft and 40ft in length, both 8ft wide. Standard height is 8ft 6in, while High Cube containers offer an extra foot of height at 9ft 6in. We also list 8ft, 10ft, 30ft and 45ft containers.

Are your containers new or used?

We sell both. One-trip containers have made a single journey from the factory and are in near-new condition. Used containers have been retired from shipping service; each listing states its condition and grade, such as cargo-worthy or wind and watertight.

Delivery & Logistics

How long does delivery take?

Delivery time depends on your location and the unit you choose. We give you an estimated delivery window with your quote and confirm the date before the container leaves our yard.

How is the container delivered?

Containers are delivered on a tilt-bed or flatbed truck. The driver will tilt the bed and slide the container off onto level ground. You must ensure the delivery site is accessible and has adequate space for the truck to maneuver.

Do I need to be present for delivery?

Yes, an adult must be present to sign for the delivery and guide the driver on container placement. We contact you before delivery to schedule the delivery window.

What are the site requirements for delivery?

You need a flat, firm surface for placement. The ground should be level to prevent door alignment issues. We recommend a gravel pad or concrete foundation. A tilt-bed delivery truck typically needs about 12ft of width and 14ft of height clearance.

Pricing & Payment

What is included in the price?

Listed prices are for the unit at our yard, in US dollars. Delivery is quoted separately based on your address, or you can choose free local pickup at checkout. Sales tax is added on your invoice.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept direct bank transfer and check payments. After you place an order we email an invoice with the payment details. For large business orders, contact us to discuss options.

Container Specifications

What is the difference between Standard and High Cube?

Standard containers are 8ft 6in tall externally. High Cube containers are 9ft 6in tall, providing an extra foot of internal height. High Cubes are ideal for voluminous cargo, tall equipment, and residential conversions.

What does 'wind and watertight' mean?

Wind and watertight (WWT) means the container has no holes or leaks and the door seals are intact. It is the minimum standard for secure storage. Each used listing states its grade.

Can I customize my container?

Tell us what you have in mind, such as extra doors, shelving or racking, and we will let you know what we can supply and quote it.

Returns

What is your return policy?

We offer a 30-day return policy for unused containers in their original condition. Custom modifications and converted containers are non-returnable. Please see our full Return Policy page for complete details.
